Dr. Stephen Doherty, study director for Toxikon's Extractables and Leachables program, is scheduled to speak at this year's Extractables and Leachables conference in San Francisco.

Dr. Doherty oversees the chemical testing and characterization of medical devices and related products at Toxikon. He develops experimental study designs to address client specific test and regulatory requirements and is the author of a number articles and book chapters on polymer formulation, testing and applications.

His presentation, entitled "The Use of Extractables and Leachables Testing in Quality Control Programs: From Raw Materials to Final Product," will walk attendees through what type of testing is most relevant to their device,  review points of consideration when designing a study and provide case studies.
