History
Incorporated in 1977 as a life sciences company, Cambridge Diagnostics Inc. offered services for clinical laboratory testing, therapeutic drug monitoring, and biomedical research. With growing demands for toxicological studies, the company restructured its operations and reincorporated in 1982 as Toxikon Corporation. As Toxikon's expertise and customer base increased, a laboratory in Belgium, Europe was opened in 1989 that facilitated communication and accessibility between U.S. and European customers. The European laboratory provided services in product chemistry and bioassays in Europe. In 1995, Toxikon Corporation opened a new facility in Bedford, MA, which expanded testing services for medical device, biotech, and pharmaceutical markets dedicated to research and development, GLP, and GMP projects. Toxikon added additional 45,000 sq. ft. facility to its existing facility in 2004 creating a campus-style setting and space for large animal models and additional state-of-the-art instrumentation for analytical support services.
To meet the demands of the life sciences industry, our technical capabilities continue to grow to serve clients for regulatory preclinical and non-clinical studies and product testing in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, and combination devices.
